Winter Cross Country Series 2026
Armidale Athletics Club’s Winter Cross Country Series is back for 2026.
Our Winter Cross Country Series offers athletes and community members the opportunity to keep moving through the cooler months in a relaxed, flexible and family-friendly environment.
Participants must be aged 5 years and older to register.
For safety reasons, athletes aged 5 and 6 years are only permitted to participate in the 1km course. This ensures athletes remain on a course which is fully visible to event officials and parents at all times.
Event Details
Start Date:Wednesday 20 May 2026
Location: Consett Davis Sports Fields at SportUNE - Armidale.
Meeting Point: Hockey Clubhouse
Start Time: From 4:30pm
For Round 1, all participants are asked to arrive from 4:00pm so we can finalise paperwork, allocate timing (HuTag) chips, and explain the course maps to any new participants.
Distances Available
Participants can choose from the following distances each week:
1km | 2km | 3km | 5km

The course maps will remain the same as last season. See the course details file linked below. Course maps will be on display each week at the hockey club house near HuTag timer collection.
How It Works
All runners are allocated an individual timing chip for the duration of the series.
From Week 2 onwards, participants can arrive anytime from 4:30pm, choose their distance, and start when ready. All runners must be off the course by 5:30pm.
Cost
The Winter Cross Country Series is included for all athletes who were registered for the 2025/2026 summer athletics season.
New participants are also welcome. To join, please register for the Winter Cross Country Series 2026 via our website for $35.
This fee helps cover the cost of course marking paint, timing equipment, and results tracking and recording software.
Season Dates
Weather permitting, the Winter Cross Country Series is expected to run weekly on Wednesday afternoons through to August.
Updates regarding weather interruptions or changes will be shared through the club’s usual communication channels. Please check our website or Facebook page to confirm that weeks event will be proceeding.
