Oh Harris Park… after last week's soggy, slippery, rain-soaked adventures, we weren't quite sure our relationship would ever recover. 🌧️💔
But then you turned on the sunshine, gave us a beautiful afternoon, and reminded us why we love spending our Wednesday afternoons with you. ☀️💚💛

And what a way to celebrate! 135 ATHLETES took to the oval for Week 2 of competition, and we've got plenty to wrap up!
🏃 HURDLES, HELPERS & HIGH FIVES!
Some of our athletes tackled their first hurdles of the season, and boy, did those hurdles get a workout! A HUGE thank you to the incredible parent helpers and athletes who jumped in to shift, adjust, reset and eventually pack away what felt like approximately 47,000 hurdles. 😅
We see you. We appreciate you. And your willingness to jump in and lend a hand absolutely does not go unnoticed. You're the reason we can run these events! 👏
⏱️ TIMING GATES & THOSE PESKY GREMLINS
Yes… we ran overtime again. And yes… we're sorry! 🫣
We're still finding our feet with our fancy new timing gates, and an early technical hiccup put us behind the eight ball almost from the get-go.
When those gates are behaving, they're lightning fast! ⚡ When they're not… well, we're still figuring out the best way to work around the gremlins without bringing everything to a standstill.
We promise we're working hard behind the scenes to iron out the issues, streamline our processes and get everyone home a little earlier. Thank you for sticking with us while we get there!
🌭 THE CANTEEN WAS ABSOLUTELY COOKING!
Another week, another sausage sandwich sell-out! Our canteen went GANGBUSTERS, and apparently our athletes have developed quite the appetite. 😂
🍫 Chocolate bars? RESTOCKED.
🌭 Sausage sandwiches? DEVOURED.
🍮 Jelly cups? WE HEAR YOU!
The people have spoken, and we'll endeavour to have those much-requested jelly cups ready for next week. Apparently they're now an essential part of the athletics experience!
🏆 THREE CLUB RECORDS… AND IT'S ONLY WEEK 2!
That's right! Just two weeks into competition and we've already had THREE CLUB RECORDS BROKEN! 🤯
We've got some seriously talented athletes out there, and we'll be celebrating those outstanding performances in a separate post very soon. Keep your eyes peeled! 👀
🏃♀️ THE RELAY RACE IS HEATING UP!
We saw some more cracking 100m performances from athletes hoping to secure a spot on one of our relay teams!
All those times have been collected into our spreadsheet, and we'll be reviewing them over the coming week before making our relay announcements.

A big thank you to everyone who has their bibs and age patches attached to their competition uniforms!
From next Wednesday, we'd like to see ALL athletes wearing their club competition uniforms, complete with bibs and age patches.
We had a few little wanderers find themselves competing with the wrong age groups this week (oops! 😂), and having everyone clearly identifiable makes a HUGE difference in keeping athletes with the correct groups and ensuring results are recorded accurately.

135 athletes, three club records, countless hurdles, a mountain of sausages and ONE VERY REDEEMED HARRIS PARK. ☀️
